Obverse description Hammered silver flan of irregular round form bearing four large Chinese characters arranged in a cruciform pattern across the field, reading 光緒銀錢 (Guangxu Silver Coin), the reign title of the Guangxu Emperor of the Qing dynasty. The characters are boldly incuse-struck in a cursive official script style characteristic of Xinjiang provincial mint production. The flan edges are irregular and show typical hammered fabric. No border ornament or exergue is present.
