Obverse description The crowned Imperial German eagle displayed at center, rendered in high relief with spread wings, a heraldic shield on its breast, and scepter and orb at its talons. The eagle is flanked on both sides by an oak wreath, the branches tied at the base where the mint mark 'D' appears in the lower exergue. The entire design is enclosed within a fine beaded border.
