Reverse description Central field within a beaded inner circle depicts the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) passant left, with a nimbus and bearing a patriarchal cross-staff from which a pennant or banner flies to the right, rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of Hospitaller coinage. The lamb's fleece is rendered with detailed stippling. A Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the inner circle, invoking the Lamb of God in the traditional liturgical formula, with a cross at the commencement of the inscription.
