(Translation: Philip, by God's grace King of Spain, Count of Artois)
Reverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy-Spain, surmounted by an open royal crown. The composite coat of arms displays the characteristic per pale and per fess divisions associated with the Habsburg-Burgundian heraldic tradition. The Latin motto legend encircles the design along the outer border, separated by pellet stops. The overall die work is typical of late sixteenth-century Spanish Netherlands provincial coinage.
