| Obverse description | Crowned quartered shield of arms of the Habsburg-Austrian dynasty, displaying the combined arms of Castile, Leon, Austria, Burgundy (ancient and modern), and Brabant, centrally positioned in the field. The shield is surmounted by an imperial crown of elaborate design. The surrounding circular legend reads ALBERTVS ET ELISABET DEI G, identifying the joint rulers Albert VII, Archduke of Austria, and Isabella Clara Eugenia. Two small six-pointed stars flank the shield at the sides as mint or privy marks. |

| Reverse description | A floriated cross pattée with trefoil terminals occupies the center of the field, with a small shield bearing a five-pointed star (estoile) at its center — the mintmark of the Maastricht Mint. The arms of the cross are decorated with stylized foliate ornaments. The surrounding legend, broken by the arms of the cross, reads ARCHIDVCES AVST DV[CE] BV[R] ET B, abbreviating the rulers' titles as Archdukes of Austria, Dukes of Burgundy and Brabant. |
