| Obverse description | Cast bronze ban liang-type coin featuring two archaic Chinese seal script characters reading 兩甾 (liang zi), arranged horizontally on either side of a central square hole. The character 兩 (liang) appears to the left of the hole and 甾 (zi) to the right, both rendered in raised relief in the archaic Qin small seal script style. The flat, unraised rim surrounds an irregularly shaped flan characteristic of Warring States period casting techniques. The fields show natural patination consistent with ancient cast bronze coinage, with no additional decorative elements. This denomination represents two zi, equivalent to twelve zhu or one-half liang. |
