Additional information

Christian IV's finances during these years were under mounting strain as he prepared Denmark's eventual entry into the Thirty Years' War — a conflict he would formally join in 1625 with disastrous results, ultimately costing Denmark significant territory and royal revenue. The fractional Krone issues of this period were practical instruments for a crown increasingly dependent on Sound Toll receipts and military expenditure.

KM#58a distinguishes this issue from the closely related type by its silver fineness.
