| 正面描述 | Bare-headed bust of Grand Duke Leopold I facing right, with naturalistically rendered hair and a plain truncation bearing the initial 'D' (for the engraver). The surrounding legend reads LEOPOLD GROSHERZOG VON BADEN, positioned along the upper and lateral rim. The portrait is executed in a clean neoclassical style typical of early 19th-century German state coinage. |

Leopold I of Baden came to power in 1830, the same year revolution swept France and triggered liberal uprisings across the German states. Baden itself saw considerable political agitation throughout the 1830s, culminating in the formal constitutional struggles of the following decade. Small copper fractions like this one were the everyday coinage of artisans and market vendors in a grand duchy caught between reform pressure and Metternich's conservative order.
