| Obverse description | Shield bearing the tower arms of Fribourg at centre, depicting a multi-turreted gateway with an arched portal, set within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads *MONETA*FRIBURGENSIS, running clockwise around the periphery of the coin. The heraldic design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude style typical of small Swiss cantonal billon coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
