| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hammered silver reverse displaying a bold bilingual epigraphic composition divided into two registers. The upper portion bears Arabic script identifying the sultan Ahmad Shah, while the lower register is inscribed in Devanagari script naming the local Rao, Bharmalji II, ruler of Kutch. The Devanagari lettering is large and deeply struck, occupying the lower half of the field with characteristic angular strokes and a prominent horizontal head-stroke. The combination of Arabic and Devanagari legends is typical of Kutch feudatory coinage acknowledging both Mughal suzerainty and local dynastic authority. The flan edges are irregular due to the hammered technique. |
