| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears the crowned arms of the Abbey of Fulda, displaying a quartered shield with the characteristic cross and decorative flourishes, surmounted by a princely crown. The arms are set within a circular border, with the circumferential Latin legend reading ADOLPHUS•D•G•S•R•I•PR•ET•ABB•FVLD• disposed around the full perimeter, identifying Adolph von Dalberg as Prince-Abbot of Fulda by the grace of God and prince of the Holy Roman Empire. The die work is in the late Baroque style typical of ecclesiastical German coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
