Reverse description Square klippe flan depicting the standing full-length figure of Saint Rupert of Salzburg, patron saint of the archbishopric, clad in episcopal vestments with mitre, holding a crozier in his left hand and a salt container (Salzfass) in his right, set within a beaded inner border. The Latin legend encircling the saint reads S RVDBERTVS EPVS SALZBVRGN, identifying him as Bishop of Salzburg. The finely hammered relief displays the characteristic bold, slightly uneven striking quality associated with klippe coinage of this period.
