1/2 Khumsi - Salah thin legends

Mukalla, a port town on the Hadhramaut coast of what is now Yemen, operated under the Qu'aiti sultanate — a dynasty whose wealth derived substantially from Hadhramis who had emigrated to the Dutch East Indies and remitted fortunes home. Small fractional bronzes like this circulated in a local economy that ran partly on that diaspora capital. The "thin legends" die variant distinguishes this from the thicker-inscription strikes of the same type, a difference attributed to separate working dies rather than any intentional design revision.
