Reverse description The royal arms of Tonga rendered in high relief at centre, featuring a quartered shield bearing three six-pointed stars and a cross in the first quarter, a crown in the second, a dove in the third, and crossed swords in the fourth. The shield is supported on each side by warriors holding flags charged with crosses, and surmounted by a large imperial crown flanked by olive branches. A scroll beneath the shield carries the Tongan motto MO TONGA KO HOKU, with the words KOEOTUIA and TOFIA to either side. The denomination HALF HAU arcs above the design and the issuer name TONGA appears below, all within a beaded border.
