Obverse description Draped bust of Archbishop Matthäus Lang von Wellenburg facing left, wearing a biretta. The Roman numeral date MDXXXIX appears below the effigy. Two small heraldic shields flank the bust within the field, dividing the encircling Latin legend. The portrait is rendered in the late Gothic to early Renaissance hammered style typical of Salzburg coinage of the period.
