Obverse description Armored bust of Frederick II facing left, set within a raised inner circle. The portrait displays curled hair and a gorget with detailed etching of armor at the shoulder and neckline. The effigy is rendered in a robust Renaissance style with strong relief. The surrounding field between the inner circle and the coin's edge carries the Latin legend.

Reverse description Displayed imperial eagle with spread wings, bearing on its breast a Spanish shield of two-fold arms, divided between Austria (left) and Aragon (right). The surrounding Latin legend is divided by the eagle's wings and concludes with the Roman numeral date MCCCCCXXII.
