Obverse description Central field depicts Saint Kilian, patron saint of Würzburg, shown enthroned and facing front in full episcopal vestments including mitre and cope, holding a crozier in his right hand. Below the saint, a quartered shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg is flanked by the mint-master's initials S and K. The entire composition is enclosed within a rope-bordered inner circle. The peripheral legend reads FRIDE(R)I. EPS. WIRCEBVR. FRANC. ORIENT. DVX., identifying Bishop Frederick of Wirsberg as Prince-Bishop and Duke of Franconia.
