Aanvullende informatie

George Frederick I of Brandenburg-Ansbach acquired Jägerndorf in 1543 through inheritance, adding the Silesian duchy to his scattered Hohenzollern holdings. His administration coincided with intensifying pressure from the Habsburg emperors to consolidate control over Silesian monetary output, yet the duchy continued issuing its own denominations through the 1560s. The 30 Kreuzer — a fraction of the guldenthaler — emerged as a practical denomination bridging the gap between large silver thalers and petty coinage during a period when trade in the region demanded intermediate values.

George Frederick's Jägerndorf issues are among the less-documented of the Silesian fractional coinages from this decade, partly because the duchy passed to the Habsburgs in 1621 following the Battle of White Mountain, after which many administrative records were absorbed or lost.
