| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the Schlick family arms, surmounted by a helmeted crest with elaborate mantling and flanked by two crowned eagles displayed, all rendered in high relief characteristic of early sixteenth-century German hammer-struck coinage. The shield is composed of multiple quartered armorial divisions. A circular beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend arranged around the periphery reading FRA CO D BA AR DO SLI STE or similar, referencing the titles and domains of the Schlick counts. The overall composition is dense and heraldic in character, typical of the Joachimsthal mint's early output under the Schlick family. The fields show natural wear and the irregular flan is consistent with hammered production. |
