Reverse description The denomination 1/2 GULDEN is displayed in three lines at the centre of the field, with the fractional numeral set above the word GULDEN and the mint year 1840 below, all within an oak wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The wreath, composed of detailed lobed oak leaves and small acorns, is finely modelled and encircles the entire central device. The design is framed by a beaded inner border and a reeded edge, with the open field showing attractive original silver lustre with cabinet toning.
