Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Duke Bernhard II of Saxe-Meiningen facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved curly hair and sideburns. The truncation is plain and unadorned. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading BERNHARD HERZOG ZU SACHSEN MEININGEN. The engraver's name HELFRICHT appears in small capitals at the base of the bust truncation. The field is smooth, framed by a fine toothed border.
