Obverse description The arms of the Free City of Danzig occupy the central field, consisting of two heraldic crosses arranged vertically beneath a municipal crown, rendered in bold relief. The circular legend FREIE STADT DANZIG curves around the upper periphery in Fraktur blackletter script. The design is austere and uncluttered, with no additional border ornament beyond the reeded edge, lending the composition a distinctly civic character typical of interwar German coinage.
