Obverse description Central field features the crowned initial V of Duke Vincenzo II Gonzaga, flanked on either side by the letter I, forming the monogram I-V-I. The ducal crown above the V is rendered in high relief with characteristic arched form. The overall composition is bold and heraldic in style, occupying most of the flan. The coin's irregular hammered flan is bordered by a beaded rim.
