| 正面描述 | Central device comprising the auroch head facing, the traditional heraldic symbol of Moldavia, rendered in low relief with broad, curving horns. A six-pointed star is positioned centrally between the horns, a rosette appears to the right of the head, and a crescent to the left. The strike is characteristically irregular, consistent with medieval hammered billon coinage of the region. |

Stephen II ruled Moldavia through a period of near-constant dynastic conflict, sharing or contesting the throne multiple times between the 1430s and 1440s. This fractional issue belongs to his first confirmed coinage type, struck during a reign interrupted by rival claimants backed variously by Poland and Hungary. Moldavian billon coinage of this period is notoriously difficult to attribute with precision — die workmanship was inconsistent across minting sessions, and surviving pieces frequently show significant variation in flan preparation and silver content.
