| Obverse description | Divided heraldic shield occupying the central field, with the dexter side bearing three horizontal bars (fesses) and the sinister side displaying a frontal auroch's head with prominent upward-curving horns, rendered in low relief typical of hammered medieval billon coinage. The shield is depicted in a Gothic style consistent with Moldavian princely iconography of the mid-15th century. No surrounding legend is present on this face. The strike is irregular, with flat areas and die shift characteristic of hand-hammered production. |

Roman II's reign lasted roughly two years before he was deposed, making this a short-window issue tied directly to the violent dynastic instability that plagued Moldavia through the mid-fifteenth century. The principality cycled through multiple rulers during this period — several of whom died by assassination or in succession conflicts — and coinage from any single reign is correspondingly scarce.
