附加信息	Francis I of Lorraine — not to be confused with the later Holy Roman Emperor of the same name — ruled the duchy from 1544 until his death in 1545, making this issue one of the shortest-reigned coinages in Lorraine's minting history. The duchy sat at a perpetual crossroads between French and Imperial ambitions, and its silver fractional coinage of this period reflected the monetary pressures of both spheres. The half-groschen denomination served local market exchange rather than the larger political transactions that drove ducats and talers.
