| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the crowned Saxon coat of arms — a quartered shield displaying the traditional barry of horizontal lines with a diagonal band (rautenkranz) traversing the quarters — centrally positioned in the field. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown of elaborate form. The circumferential legend reads HERZOGTH. S. COB.-GOTHA, separated by dots, with the mintmaster's mark F appearing below the shield in the lower field. The coin is struck within a fine beaded border. |
