(Translation: Charles, Duke of Lorraine and Marquis.)
Reverse description A long cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, each adorned with small heraldic crosses and fleurs-de-lis in a decorative arrangement typical of Lotharingian gros coinage. At the centre of the cross is a shield bearing the quartered arms of Lorraine — combining the golden bend with the fleurs-de-lis — enclosed within a shaped shield. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central motif, with the pious motto legend occupying the outer field. The hammered execution results in an irregular flan with some softness at the rim.
