| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long cross with fleurs-de-lis in each of the four angles dominates the field, with a central shield bearing the imperial double-headed eagle. The design is framed by a circular peripheral legend in Gothic uncial letters reading MONET nOVA DE CLEVEnSIS, identifying this as the new coinage of Cleves. The execution is typical of Rhenish hammered coinage of the early fifteenth century, with bold strokes and a flat, hand-struck flan. |
