Obverse description Central field displays an upright sword, its blade pointing upward, flanked to the left by the initial letter 'A' and to the right by a displayed eagle, both rendered in Gothic style. The design elements are arranged symmetrically within a plain inner circle. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the circumferential legend, which reads in uncial Gothic lettering. The overall execution is characteristic of mid-15th century French feudal hammered coinage, with flat relief and irregular flan edges.
