Reverse description Central field features a heraldic shield bearing the lion of Brabant, supported on either side by two confronting wyverns or dragons rendered in a stylised Gothic manner, their sinuous bodies filling the field. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, separated by stops, proclaims this as the new coinage of Brabant and Flanders. The hammered flan exhibits typical medieval irregularity, with slight weakness at the edges.
