| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features a heraldic shield bearing the lion of Brabant, supported on either side by two confronting wyverns or dragons rendered in a stylised Gothic manner, their sinuous bodies filling the field. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, separated by stops, proclaims this as the new coinage of Brabant and Flanders. The hammered flan exhibits typical medieval irregularity, with slight weakness at the edges. |

Joanna of Brabant issued this coin during a period when she was effectively governing alone — her husband Wenceslas I of Luxembourg had died in 1383, leaving her as sole duchess for the first time in decades of co-rule. The "Rozebeker" type takes its popular name from the Battle of Beverhoutsveld (1382), after which Ghent's victory over Louis II of Flanders briefly reshaped the political balance across the Low Countries, influencing the monetary policies of neighboring lordships including Brabant.
Billon issues of this weight from Joanna's later reign are frequently found in poor condition due to the alloy's susceptibility to corrosion.
