| Obverse description | Central field depicts the Vytis (Pursuer), the mounted armoured knight of Lithuania, shown in profile facing right on horseback at full gallop. The knight raises a sword above his head and bears a shield decorated with a double cross on his left arm. A scabbard is visible beneath the horse. The entire device is rendered in the bold, somewhat schematic Gothic style typical of late 15th-century hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, separated from the central field by a beaded inner border. |
