Obverse description Crowned bust of King Martin I facing left, rendered in the Gothic style typical of late medieval Aragonese coinage. The king is depicted wearing a large fleur-de-lis adorned crown, with a beaded inner circle surrounding the portrait. The legend +MARTINUS:DEI:GRA:REX runs clockwise around the periphery, partially visible on the irregular flan. The die work is characteristic of the Barcelona mint during the late 14th and early 15th centuries.
