| Popis líce | Facing bust of King James III, crowned with a prominent trefoil crown, his long flowing hair falling to either side of his shoulders and a draped collar visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in the late medieval Gothic style typical of Scottish hammered coinage, with a somewhat stylised facial treatment.
