| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central long cross pattée extending to the coin's edge, dividing the field into four quarters and forming the framework for a quartered royal shield of arms. The shield displays, in the first and fourth quarters, the fleurs-de-lis of France Ancient, and in the second and third quarters the three passant guardant lions of England, all rendered in the characteristic bold relief of early Tudor hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle surrounds the shield, with the mint legend in Latin uncial lettering occupying the outer field. Word dividers separate the elements of the inscription, which attributes the coin to the city of Canterbury. |
