| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned facing bust of Henry VIII set within a beaded inner circle, the king depicted with long hair falling to his shoulders and wearing a jewelled crown of fleurs-de-lis and crosses. The effigy is rendered in the late Gothic style characteristic of early Tudor hammered coinage. A mint mark appears at the top of the legend, which runs in Latin around the periphery of the coin separated by pellets and abbreviation marks. The overall flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck hammered silver coinage of the period. |
