| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Edward VI occupying the central field, rendered in the debased style characteristic of the first coinage period. The youthful king is depicted with a crown above and wearing robes, facing forward in the typical late-medieval English hammered tradition. A beaded inner circle frames the effigy, with the Latin legend running clockwise around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders. The irregular flan and weak strike in areas reflect the hammered production method and billon composition of this issue. |
