The effigy is rendered in a stylised medieval manner typical of hammered Scottish coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. The surrounding legend is separated by pellet stops and runs within a beaded inner circle. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A voided long cross extending to the coin's edge divides the field into four quarters, each containing a six-pointed mullet pierced by a central pellet; one of the mullets bears an additional pellet within it, serving as a class differentiator. The legends are arranged in two lines across opposite quarters, separated by the cross arms, and are enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The overall design follows the standard Scottish groat reverse type of the period. |
