| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large royal crown dominates the upper field, surmounting a thistle at centre, the Scottish national emblem rendered in fine detail with seed head and flanking foliage. The crowned royal cypher C·R (Carolus Rex) flanks the thistle to left and right, each initial individually crowned. The date 1640 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the thistle, within a beaded inner border. The overall composition reflects Briot's accomplished medallic engraving style. |
