Reverse description Two oval shields, side by side and surmounted by a royal crown, occupy the central field: the dexter shield bears the fleurs-de-lis of France, while the sinister shield displays the chained ermines of Navarre. The date 1772 appears to the upper left of the crowned shields, and the Paris mint letter 'A' is placed at the base between two pellets. The circular Latin motto legend, referencing Christ's sovereignty, surrounds the design, all within a toothed border.
