| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features an elaborate ornate cross fleury with fleurs-de-lis at the terminals, set within a quadrilobe formed by four outward-curving arcs, each lobe filled with stylised foliate and floral ornament in high relief, characteristic of Burgundian Gothic goldsmith work. A small central roundel or annulet marks the intersection of the cross. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, in Gothic uncial lettering, carries the traditional Carolingian royal acclamation in three parts, separated by stops. |
