The king's hair is depicted in loose, natural curls falling to the nape of the neck, characteristic of early 19th-century portraiture. The legend FRIEDR. WILH. III KŒNIG V. PREUSSEN curves around the periphery in Latin capital letters, separated by dot stops. The field is smooth and unadorned, with a reeded border encircling the entire design. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A crowned Prussian eagle displayed, facing left, with wings spread and tail feathers fanning outward, perched atop a trophy of arms comprising a helmet, cannons, a sceptre, laurel branches, and military accoutrements arranged in an elaborate martial composition. The eagle holds a sceptre in its right talon and an orb surmounted by a cross in its left, symbols of royal sovereignty. The date appears in the lower exergual area with the mint mark 'A' (Berlin Mint) positioned between the central digits, reading '1 8 A 0 4' on the example illustrated. The overall design is richly detailed and executed in the grand Baroque-influenced tradition of Prussian gold coinage. |
