Obverse description Draped bust of Francis III, Holy Roman Emperor and Grand Duke of Tuscany, facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and armor with ornate decorative detailing at the shoulder. The hair is rendered in long, flowing curls in the baroque court style. The circumferential Latin legend reads FRANCISCVS·D·G·R·I·S·A·G·HIER·REX·LOTH·BAR·M·D·ETR, enumerating his full imperial and ducal titles, separated by pellets. The portrait is boldly modeled in high relief, characteristic of Pisan mint workmanship of the mid-18th century.
