Obverse description Bare-headed draped bust of Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany, facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The peripheral legend encircles the effigy reading FERD·III·D·G·P·I·A·P·R·H·ET B·A·A·M·D·ETR·, with a small mintmark 'S' and star positioned in the lower field beneath the truncation. The portrait is executed in a neoclassical style characteristic of early nineteenth-century Tuscan coinage.

The two-part legend LEX TVA VERITAS flanks the shield laterally, with PISIS inscribed below, referencing the Pisa mint.
