Reverse description Central field displays a cross formed by four ornate fleurs-de-lis arranged around a crowned letter H monogram, all in high relief characteristic of late sixteenth-century hammered coinage. The four fleurs-de-lis radiate outward from the central monogram, creating a decorative quartered composition. The date 1603 appears incorporated into the circular legend, which reads +DNS.ADIVTOR.ET.REDEM.MEVS, translating as 'The Lord is my support and my redeemer.' The legend is contained within a plain inner circle bordering the central design.
