Obverse description Bare head of Charles X facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair. The engraver's signature MICHAUT appears incuse along the truncation of the neck. The circular legend reads CHARLES X ROI DE FRANCE, distributed around the periphery of the field. The portrait is executed in a neoclassical style with strong, naturalistic facial modeling. The design is contained within a beaded border.

Reverse description The arms of France, consisting of a shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis, surmounted by a royal crown, and enclosed within an ornamental open wreath composed of two laurel branches tied at their base with a ribbon. The denomination 1/2 F appears to the left and the date 1830 to the right of the shield, with the Paris mint mark A below. The composition is balanced and heraldic in character, consistent with Restoration-period coinage design conventions.
