Obverse description Irregular square flan bearing a central inscription in Devanagari script, characteristic of the Malwa Sultanate chandri series issued under Mahmud Shah II. The legend is arranged across the field in multiple lines, the characters rendered in a bold if somewhat crude hammered style typical of base-metal provincial coinage of the period. The surfaces show pronounced die rust and natural copper patination consistent with age. The flan edges are irregular, a common feature of hand-struck copper fractions of this series.
