Additional information

Mahmud Shah I ruled Malwa for over three decades, a reign long enough to produce considerable coinage variety — but the fractional copper issues remain poorly documented compared to the silver series. The Malwa Sultanate operated in persistent tension with neighboring Mewar and Gujarat, and copper fractions like this served local bazaar exchange at a level the silver tanka never reached.
