| Additional information |
Voisins-le-Bretonneux is a commune within the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines agglomeration, a planned new town built from the 1970s onward in the Yvelines department southwest of Paris. Local emergency scrip of this kind proliferated across French municipalities during the 1990s, typically issued by town councils or merchants' associations to promote local commerce — functionally closer to a loyalty token than a monetary instrument, with no legal tender status under French law.
